Larry Karl Jones was born in Oakland, California on January 14, 1952, to Hazel Frazier and Luis Jones.
Hazel died at childbirth, Larry was raised by his grandmother Blanche Lee Perry also known as "Big Mama."
Larry was baptized as a child at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.L. Richard Sr. He was a boy scout under Deacon Pitmen. He attended and received his education from Oakland Unified district, and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1970.
Larry served in the U.S Marine Reserves in1976. He was honorably discharged and pursued a career in the security and warehouse industry.
He met Yvonne Ealy in High School and married in 1975, that union brought to the world 2 beautiful daughters Cheri Jones and Shavonne Jones. He later met and courted Kathy Allen where that relationship brought to the world, Megan Jones.
Larry was an affectionate father to his daughters and a loving and supportive, ” Big Daddy” to his grandchildren.
He was a protector of his children, a man of few words, and a man with a huge heart of love and joy. He had a laugh and smile that is going to last in the memory of all who knew him. He cared deeply about family, sports, and the success of his grandchildren. He was a proud man and his legacy will live on in the lives of everyone he knew.

Larry proceeds in death his parents Hazel Fraizer and Luis Jones, Grandmother Blanche Lee Perry, and Uncle Milton Smith.
He leaves to morn his memory a devoted Aunt Grace Daniels,3 daughters,8 grandchildren and a host of cousins who will miss him dearly. His life on earth will not be forgotten. As his new life in heaven is everlasting.
