Hansen, LarryLarry Laurence Hansen, age 82, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, September 8, 2017.Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a Life Celebration for Larry from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.Larry was born on June 15, 1935, in the Town of Grant, Portage County, WI. He was the son of Harry and Edith (Sherman) Hansen. He attended Plainfield Tri-County School.He married Hazel Ostrander on December 17, 1955 in Plainfield, WI. After marriage, they resided in Wisconsin Rapids/Kellner. Larry was self-employed as a Plaster/Carpenter until 1968 then he worked for Teske Lumber and then later for Wisconsin Rapids Wholesale until he retired in 1988.Larry's hobbies were building furniture and gifts for family and friends. He also enjoyed snowmobiling until his health made him quit. Fishing was always first on the list with his sons, daughter, grandkids, parents and friends. He especially liked his fishing trips to Canada on Lac Seul lake. Those trips never came fast enough for him. He had a passion for restoring old tractors and taking them to parades and shows. He also enjoyed spending time playing cards with family and friends.He is survived by his children, Allen (Peggy) Hansen and Scott (Beth) Hansen, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Peg (Jeff) Spaulding of Amherst, WI and Todd (Deb) Hansen of Wisconsin Rapids; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; one brother, Jerry (Virginia) Hansen; four sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was proceeded in death by his wife Hazel, parents; son, Garry Hansen; siblings; Phil, Merl, Esther and many sister and brother-in-laws.The family would like to thank Dr. Ho who cared for Larry over the years.
