Larry G. YazelMarch 30, 1936 - Jan. 28, 2017SOUTH BEND - Larry Gene Yazel, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 9:50 am on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Center for Hospice Care. He was born on March 30, 1936, in Mishawaka, to the late Ray M. and Mary H. (Kline) Yazel.On May 7, 1955, in Bremen, IN, Larry married Joan J. (Shell) Yazel, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of more than 60 years, he is survived by daughters, Jill R. (Brent) Speraw of Indianapolis, IN, and Julie K. (Rolf) Schrader of Toledo, OH; sons, Jack S. Yazel of Mishawaka and Jason L. (Sherry) Yazel of Russiaville, IN; six grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Hogg, Audrey (James) Purdie, Brandon Yazel, Blake Yazel, Justin Yazel, and Jenna Yazel; one great-grandchild, Liam Hogg; and one brother, Terry (Millie) Yazel of Florida. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lanny Yazel.Larry worked as an accountant for 34 years at Miles Lab-Bayer, retiring in 1994. He also worked part-time at Menard's. He attended Lutheran church and loved his family and his animals. He enjoyed playing games and attending band concerts.
