LaVerne D. Ellis1937 - 2013LaVerne D. Ellis, 75, of Elkhorn, Wis., and formerly of Twin Lakes, Wis., died Friday evening June 14, 2013, at her daughters home in Burlington, Wis., surrounded by her family.The former LaVerne Dorothy Kerkman was born on Dec. 31, 1937, in the Town of Randall, Wis., the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Clara M. Lois Kerkman.She lived in Twin Lakes for many years and moved to Elkhorn 8 years ago. She attended St. Patricks Catholic Church in Elkhorn.LaVerne was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, listening to music, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She also loved to watchhing Lawrence Welk, and rooted for the Packers and the Cubs. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.LaVerne is survived by her six children, Ron (Jody) Ellis of Liberty, Utah, Lynn Pomeroy of Genoa City, Wis., Cheryl (Todd) Wilson of Lyons, Wis., Steve (Ann) Ellis of Savage, Minn., Kathleen (Lorne) LaMeer of Burlington, Wis., and Philip Ellis of Genoa City, Wis.; former son-in-law, Frank Pomeroy of Twin Lakes, Wis.; 13 grandchildren, Andrea Kelly, Sarah Duben, Scott Olson, Amy Olson, Rebekah Ellis, Kristin Ellis, Erika Ellis, Benjamin Ellis, Zachary Ellis, Matthew LaMeer, Mark LaMeer, Melissa LaMeer and Michelle LaMeer; nine great grandchildren, Emily Kelly, Hailey Kelly, Dillon Kelly, Abby Cox, Sophie Cox, Jordan Olson, Kendra Olson, Leeah Olson and Kayla Tanking; one brother, Ralph (Lois) Kerkman of Seminole, Fla., and one sister, Doris (Tom) Bieneman of Burlington, Wis.She was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Kerkman.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster, WI.
