LaVerne Nemeth LaVerne E. Nemeth (née Hamm) passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2013 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove at the age of 89. She was born on January 24th, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI to Fred and Mae (née Bodamer) Hamm. She was a 1942 graduate of Union Grove High School. On May 1st, 1943, she was united in marriage to Alfred Nemeth, who preceded her in death on May 8th, 1988. LaVerne held many jobs and worked as a beautician, a farm homemaker, a waitress, and worked in retail at Sears. She was a member of Yorkville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club. She is survived by her children: Connie (Donald) Damaschke, Joyce (Wayne) Franzen, and Richard (Cherl) Nemeth; 9 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and a brother Donald Hamm. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred, and an infant daughter, Alice Kay. Funeral services for LaVerne will be held on December 23rd, 2013 at the Yorkville United Methodist Church at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00- 11:15 am. A luncheon will follow the services. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Union Grove Food Bank, Yorkville United Methodist Church, and the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Department.
