Sukop, LadonnaLaDonna J. Soukup, 79, of Weston, passed away at her home on Friday, November 4, 2016.She is the daughter of the late Peter and Evelyn (Espeland) Peterson. She was born on April 18, 1937 in Wauwatosa. She married Robert John Soukup on February 4, 1961 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1998.LaDonna graduated from DC Everest class of 1955. They were the second graduating class of D.C. Everest. She was a member of TOPS for over 25 years and a former member of the Mt. Calvary choir.LaDonna dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent over thirty years caring for her mother who was in a wheelchair. She was also faithful in her vows to care for Robert, who faced many health issues during their marriage. During her life she opened her home to those in need, as well as many stray and injured animals. LaDonna loved to sing, with a voice so beautiful, that it would move her husband to tears. She loved spending time with her family and looked forward to her evening talks with her son Doug. She was a woman with a strong faith, the kindest of hearts and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.She is survived by her children, James (Stefanie Lee) Soukup of the Town of Franzen, Amy (Tom) Schmirler of Weston and Douglas Soukup of Weston; granddaughter, Desirae (Garrett) Kratwell of Mosinee and great granddaughters, Isela and Kira.Beside her parents and husband, LaDonna was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Melia.Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Brainard Funeral Home-Wausau Chapel, 522 Adam Street, Wausau. Memorial services will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Aaron Winowiski of New Day Christian Church will officiate.
