LILIETTE SAMUEL Liliette "Miss Lil, Aunt Lil" Samuel, was called to sit at God's side on Monday, December 12, 2016, at the age of 73. After hosting her annual Christmas party on December 10th, Liliette was found Sunday morning having suffered a stroke. Liliette was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend born on February 7, 1943 in All Saints Village, Antigua, to the late Maud (Sheppard) Samuel and late Elkanah Desmond Samuel. Liliette leaves behind an incredible legacy of love; she was the linchpin of the family and she will be greatly missed by all who have known her. She never hesitated to open her home to children and family who needed support whether it be a place to live or just a place to talk. Her ability to give sound and compassionate advice was well known and very appreciated by all who knew her. In death as in life, Liliette was surrounded by family and friends, but most importantly she had her beloved daughters Joy-Anne (Skeete) London, Joely (Christian) Macfarlane, Shari (Samuel) Springer and niece Allyson Samuel, their spouses and grandchildren at her side. Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME - SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL, 3280 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough, ON M1T 3K3, on Tuesday, December 20th from 7:00 - 9:00pm and Wednesday December 21st from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Global Kingdom Ministries Inc., 1250 Markham Rd., Scarborough, ON M1H 2Y9, on Thursday, December 22nd with viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. and service starting at 11:00 a.m. If so desired or in lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Liliette Samuel can be made to Church of the Nativity Anglican - Malvern, The Stephen Lewis Foundation or the Trillium Gift of Life Network.
