FISHER LILIAN HALL Lilian Hall Fisher died peacefully at home in Naples, Florida on September 21, 2016. She was born on June 5, 1918, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter of Edith Chase Hall Harmon and Marcus B. Hall. She graduated from The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and attended Sarah Lawrence College. After a courtship on Cape Cod, she married Benjamin Reeves Fisher in 1939. Pittsburgh, PA became her home for 60 years. Lilian was interested in education. She served as a trustee and remained of both an Honorary Trustee of The Masters School, Dobbs Ferry, NY, and Presley Ridge School, in Pittsburgh. The of Western Pennsylvania was another organization of personal interest. She was an active member of The Garden Club of Allegheny County, where an interest in horticulture and a gift for design led her to become a Master Judge of flower shows. In Naples, she supported Planned Parenthood and The Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Her family remembers her engaging smile, sense of style, positive attitude, love of travel and appreciation for friends and family all over the country. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Benjamin Reeves Fisher, former chairman of the Board of Fisher Scientific Company, founded by his father. She was predeceased by her daughter, Coburn Hall Fisher; son, Benjamin Reeves Fisher, Jr.; brothers, Reverend Marcus B. Hall, Rowland L. Hall and Alan C. Hall. She is survived by her sisters, Anne Hall McMahon of Durham, NC, and Edith Hall Fisher of Pittsburgh, PA; daughters, Margaret Fisher Blackburn and husband, William of Naples, FL, Christine Fisher Wagner and husband, Charles of Raleigh, NC; and daughter-in-law, Linda Crawford Fisher of Pittsburgh, PA; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, followed by a memorial service at noon, in the chapel at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh, PA.
