Kristen Jean Bell, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died as the result of an automobile accident near Guthrie, Oklahoma, on Oct. 21, 2016, at the age of 31 years.Kristen Jean Bell was born on March 10, 1985, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Terry Wayne and Ruby Jean (Scott) Ricketts. She grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools, graduating in 2004. While in high school, she participated in the band as a trumpet player, played basketball and softball, served as a volunteer for Blackwell Regional Hospital, worked for Blackwell Equipment and completed her seminary education while earning the Young Women's Award. She later worked for Braum's in Blackwell and furthered her education by attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. After a year she transferred to Brigham Young University–Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, and studied sociology and literature, while working full-time for Wal-Mart. She married Joshua Alan Bell on May 14, 2011, in Ponca City, and they settled in Idaho until 2013 when they moved to Guthrie to make their home. She continued her employment with Wal-Mart as a training coordinator in the human resources department. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served happily in the Primary. She enjoyed fishing, reading, candy, attending movies, exploring new places and playing golf. She also loved music and dance, including playing the piano and singing. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.She is survived by her husband, Josh Bell, of Guthrie; a son, Desmond Bell, of Guthrie; her parents, Terry and Ruby Ricketts, of Guthrie; a sister, Kerri Schrater, and husband, Jared, of Guthrie; her in-laws, Rick and Sherri Bell, of Rexburg, Idaho; and two brother-in-laws, Jason and Clayten Bell.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J. M. and Alta Ricketts, Phillis Ricketts and Wilford and Margaret Scott.Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Bishop Andy Confer, of Guthrie, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin.Casketbearers will be Clay Johns, Adam Johns, Derek Scott, Jimmy Ricketts, Clayten Bell and Jared Schrater. Gary Scott and John Hoogendoorn will serve as honorary casketbearer.A memorial has been established in her honor for "The Benefit of Desmond Bell" in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W.
