Kimberly Elaine Wolodkin of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1965 in Flint, Michigan to James and Peggy (Parker) Averill.Kim is survived by two children, Steven Wolodkin and Stephanie Wolodkin; her mother, Peggy Averill; and three siblings, Pat (Tom) Coulter, John (Shari) Averill and Jim (Cherie) Averill.She was preceded in passing by her father, James "Papa" Averill and one brother, Doug Averill.Kim was a veteran of the armed forces serving honorably in the United States Army. She earned her Master's Degree from Spring Arbor University. Kim taught at Reading Community Schools for over 20 years. She loved teaching and was very active within the school. Kim enjoyed her students and loved to help them prepare for their futures. She enjoyed being part of their lives and building lasting relationships. Kim also enjoyed sewing and had a strong love for animals, especially her two dogs, Josie and Bailey.A visitation for family and friends to honor her life will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, December 15 with military honors to take place at 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life gathering with luncheon will follow the visitation at the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church.
