Kevin RozhonKevin Rozhon died unexpectedly at home in his sleep on September 6, 2015. Kevin was born on June 1st, 1962, and, as a teenager, he moved with his family from Monticello to Lafayette, where graduated from McCutcheon High School in 1981. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force, during which time he was stationed in the Caribbean. Kevin is survived by his partner of 20 years, Deena Spear, and his sister, Laura Rozhon and her husband, Rick Ecola, of Lafayette. His mother, LaVonne Rozhon, and a brother, Edward Rozhon and his wife, Peggy, of Half Moon Bay, California, also survive Kevin. Kevin has two nieces and three nephews. For 18 years, the Lafayette Venetian Blind Company employed Kevin. For hobbies, Kevin was an avid fisherman, often fishing on weekends and holidays in the Wabash and Tippecanoe rivers with his long-time friend, Phil Guernsey, of Lafayette. As a result of being musically talented, Kevin played the electronic keyboard in a local rock band and was experienced at playing the organ, which he learned later in life. He was also an enthusiastic flipper pinball player (the non digital type) for which he won the Fall 2014 local Lafayette, Indiana, championship, and recently, was ranked the 7th best pinball player in Indiana. An unusually generous and giving person, Kevin would frequently give money to homeless individuals he encountered on the streets. In January 2015, Kevin travelled to California for the first time to celebrate his mother's 88th birthday. While in California, he spent time relaxing on the beach and collecting seashells, visiting the coastal redwood and giant sequoia forests, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Yosemite National Park. On the last day of his visit, he described his experience as the "trip of a lifetime." Kevin will be much missed by his partner, family, friends, and colleagues. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and a celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 pm, with both events at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 North 9th Street, Lafayette, IN.
