Kenneth Paul DaigleLAFAYETTE - Kenneth Paul Daigle died on January 18, 2017 surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer. Kenny was born on January 14, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana.He was a graduate of De La Salle High School and the University of New Orleans. After serving in the
US Air Force as a pilot, Kenny enjoyed a lengthy and highly accomplished career as a securities broker for Merrill Lynch and later for Ahrens Investment Firm. Kenny had a great passion for life. He enjoyed being a member of the Krewe of Bacchus and the New Orleans Symphony Chorus. While residing in New Iberia, he shared his love for wine by owning and operating a fine wine boutique.Kenny had a lifelong love of flying and explored many places in his own airplanes. As a fearless pilot, he thought nothing of landing his plane on the beaches of Chandelier Island for an afternoon of fishing or striking out for more distant lands. As a resident of New Iberia, he commuted to New Orleans until his airplane suffered engine failure. As a skilled pilot, he successfully crash landed in the backyard of a fellow Iberia resident.From the age of seven, Kenny acted as a father to his two younger brothers and took great pride in their success. He was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and his Catholic faith.He is survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Annie Laurie Daigle, brothers Wayne Daigle, his wife, Anne, and their children, Austin, Olivia, and Gabrielle, Keith Daigle, his wife, Julie, and their children, Melissa and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernande Sarthou and Sidney Irving Daigle and an infant sister, Mary.Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of his life at the home of Wayne and Anne Daigle on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 AM.
