Kenneth Charles Jenks, Sr.Kenneth Charles Jenks, Sr. was born on a farm on April 9, 1921, in O'Brien County, Iowa to Arthur Jenks and Louise (Daarud) Jenks. He passed away peacefully on October 24, 2016.When Ken was young, his parents and siblings moved to St. Paul, Nebraska, where he attended school through the 10th grade. They later moved to Liberty, Washington, where he graduated from Cle Elum High School.Ken was a very hard worker who took great pride in his carpentry skills and was a 50-year member of the Carpentry Union. He fished Alaskan waters, helped build the Wanapum Dam, and loved the cows on his Kittitas farm.By far the greatest joy of Ken's life was his family. Whether it was watching a ball game together, barbecuing in the backyard, talking on the phone, or just eating a cookie at the kitchen table, he cherished these times the most. His genuine love for his family is his legacy.Ken is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Hazel and Harold, as well as previous wives Rosie Mae, Evelyn, and Ilene. His daughters Lorrie and Marsha preceded him to Heaven and no doubt greeted him with a big hug.Ken was a loving father to daughter Karen of Lynnwood and sons Ken Jr. (Carole) of Kittitas, Steve of East Wenatchee, and Rob (Tracy) of Kittitas. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-children, all of whom he loved very much.A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Mercer Creek Church, 1407 North B Street, Ellensburg.
