Kelly was born to Gertrude Marie McLaurin and Robert L. Cottle, Sr. on Sunday December 9, 1973. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age.
Kelly attended Susan B. Anthony elementary and Dawes Elementary school. Thereafter she attended and graduated from Hyde Park Career Academy in 1992.
Not too long after graduating high school, Kelly went on to pursue a career in healthcare, majoring in Radiology and graduating from Malcolm X college with an Associate in Applied Science degree.
Kelly maintained a career as a Radiographer for the duration of her life.
She enjoyed motherhood, laughter, shopping, and music! Kelly will always be remembered for her winning smile, hearty laugh, no non-sense attitude, and for lovingly, encouraging any and every one to be their best self!
On Friday, March 4, 2016, Kelly was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her beautiful and gifted son, Kameron James, Her beloved Mother, Gertrude; four siblings; Robert Cottle Jr. (Catrina), Malinda Cottle, Mildred Hodges, and Ben “J.R.” Henderson; three aunts, Elizabeth McLaurin-Riley, Jacqueline Ingram, and Jean Thomas; Three uncles; L.D. McLaurin (Effie), Zebedee McLaurin (Erma) and Melvin McLaurin; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her father, Robert preceded her in death as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents and sixteen maternal Uncles and Aunts.
