Keith SorensonMay 8, 1938 - November 1, 2014Keith Sorenson, loving father and husband, passed away at his homeSaturday evening at the age of 76 of cancer. He was born on May 18 1938to Richard Spencer Sorenson and Marietta Johnson Sorenson in his home inOvid,Idaho. He was the youngest of four boys. His siblings were Grant,Don, and Richard Dell. He married Gayle Sorenson on Aug. 8, 1958 in theLDS Temple at Idaho Falls. To this union was born nine children, Koreen(David) Robinson of Wasilla, Alaska; Preston Keith, deceased; Ellen Marie(Kim) Kowallis of Midway, Ut. Shari Ann (Michael) Larsen of Pullman,Wash; Judy Lyn (Latt) Hyde of Ovid, ,Robert Spencer (Traca) of Grace,Leith E (Kari) of Moscow, Jonnet (Dustin) Peterson of Nampa, Martin Wadeof Pocatello. He had 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hegrew up in Ovid, helping his father on the farm just north of town. Heloved to play ball; baseball, softball, football, and basketball. Heloved to go fishing and hunting. Camping during hunting season was alwayssomething that he looked forward to. He was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsdoing what was ask of him to the best of his ability. He served withthe young men as an instructor, served in the Young Men Presidency, asa coach for basketball and softball, as a Boy Scout Master, VarsityCoach, and an Explorer Advisor for over 35 years. He was an Elder, aSeventy (when the Seventies Quorum was a unit in every Stake), and aHigh Priest. He was in the Elders Presidency, he served as a StakeMissionary, and as a High Priest Group Leader. He also served in manypositions in the Bear Lake Stake organization. He and his wife served amission in the Philippines and worked as an ordinance worker at theLogan Temple for six and a half years. He had many hobbies, such as gardening, building his home in Ovid, oilpainting, and wood working. His mind and hands were always busy. Heliked to go to the canyon to get fire wood with his father in law, hischildren, his son in law or anyone else that would go. He made hisliving by working on the railroad, up Georgetown Canyon, and in SodaSprings at the Phosphate plant. He was preceded in death by his baby son, Preston, his parents, and histwo older brothers. His funeral will be held in the Liberty Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Friday November 7th from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Saturday prior to the services from 10:00 - 11:45 am. The funeral will be Saturday at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in the Ovid Cemetery.
