Kathryn D. Bailey, age 70, of East Tawas died on Saturday, May 2, 2015. She was born on March 12, 1945 in West Branch to the late Ray and Edna Kesler (nee Kolb). Kathy graduated salutatorian from New Lothrup High School in 1963. She later earned her bachelor's degree in both social studies and library science from the University of Michigan. Kathy worked as a librarian in the Flint Kearsley School District and later as both a librarian and social studies teacher at Oscoda Area Schools and she was a proud member of the Michigan Education Association. Kathy enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, cooking, rock and roll music and her winter time spent in the Florida Keys. She especially loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Bailey, whom she married on June 4, 1966 in Whittemore; son, Charles C. (Shannon) Bailey of Grandville; daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Bristol of Saginaw; sister, Kelda Wilson; brother, James Kesler; brother, Wallace (Sondra) Kesler; three grandchildren, Chase Bailey, Dylan Bailey and Bailey Bristol; and many nieces and nephews. Kathy is also survived by her two special sisters-in-law, Jane Weisbrodt and Norma Bailey-Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Whittemore United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Pioneer Cemetery in National City. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. Memorials may be directed to the or to the .
