Kathleen LaRue, 103, of Montrose, passed away peacefully at, on March 30, 2014 at Gracious Living Estates in Montrose. She was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Charles R. LaRue.She was born on August 2, 1910 to the late Leo A. and Inez (Jenner) Pierson in East Rush. Kathleen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence Bill LaRue, East Rush, Lyndon and Roben LaRue, East Rush, Eldon and Cathy LaRue, Springville, and Sandra LaRue, Lawton; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Larry LaRue, East Rush, Kim (Steve) Doney, Philadelphia, Tami (Dave) Tewksbury, Laceyville, Nicole (Dwayne) White, Natrona Heights, Jared (Mandy) LaRue, Jarrettsville, Md., Lenet (Brett) Dietzman, Binghamton, N.Y., Charles LaRue, Springville, Lindy LaRue, East Rush; 15 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was also predeceased by her son, Harold "Tom" LaRue; daughter-in-law, Anna Keeney LaRue; her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Harold and Dora Pierson, Donald and Letha Pierson, Genevieve and Grant Williams, Josephine and Herman Hollister, Fred and Irene Pierson, Lloyd and Alice Pierson; brother-in-law, Myles LaRue; and sister-in-law, Belle Decker.Kathleen was a member of the East Rush Church. She and her husband Charles started out as farmers at East Rush. Kathleen went on to work at several factories in the area, worked at the cafeteria at the Elk Lake School, and also worked as a cook at the County Home. She loved sewing, crocheting, quilting, and gardening, especially flowers. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother. When her family needed her, she was always there. Funeral services will be held at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Spering of the Kingsley United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Donations in Kathleen's memory can be made to the East Rush Church.
