Katara Latrese Maydwell was born in Detroit, Michigan in a quiet little neighborhood on the west side Woodbine to be exact. With a humble upbringing, Katara was raised to always care for others, to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and to always be a compassionate person. Our mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin was a joy to us all. She always knew how to put a smile on our faces even in the worst times.
Katara has a total of 5 siblings with Karlos Abdul (preceding), Keith Lamont, Karl Phillip, Antonia Denise, and Karlton Avery. Katara loved her family very much and would do anything for them no matter what the case may have been she was going to be right there.
Katara loved to laugh and have a great time she was very much full of life and very creative as well. Katara could do anything when it came to arts and crafts it was her favorite activity she was very hands-on and shared her gift with whoever she could. She made shirts and jewelry curtains and tablecloths she could whip up some stuff when it came down to it and wouldn't mind. She was a mentor and did her best to spread her wisdom to anyone who would allow her to. Always trying to expand her knowledge and bestow upon the ones she loved, A true fanatic for education, one of her biggest prides were to make sure that all of her loved ones are stable, and that we all live our best lives possible.
Her favorite mantra was "Love you to Life" and she meant that. For those of you who are unfamiliar with that "Love you to life," it means that she was going to love you through rain, sleet or snow, ups and downs, and often right or wrong. When she loved she loved hard and she meant it until the end of time. As we have learned time is ongoing and doesn't stop for any of us and her love still continues as we are all here as witnesses today. She loves family and it has always been everything to her.
She would want us to rejoice in the passing of her physical being. Because spiritually she is in every one of us. So we would ask for anyone that would like to share how Katara has touched your life, this would be a good time. In conclusion "Even though I walk through the darkest valley I will fear no evil for you are with me your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemy. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalm23 Verses 4-5
