Correll, 70, of La Porte, formerly of North Liberty, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 1, 2016 in his home.He was born on October 14, 1946, in Winamac, IN, to Loren and Genevieve (Rhode) Correll.Karles honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a metallurgy inspector at Bethlehem Steel for 37 years. Karles was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 6787, Portage. He enjoyed auctioning and farming. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.On November 7, 1998, in La Porte, IN, he married Paula (Igras) Correll, who survives.Also surviving are his three sons, Matthew (Kristen) Correll of Michigan, Jason (Tiffany) Vaughan of TN, and Kody Correll of North Liberty; one daughter, Miranda Roseberry of North Liberty; one sister, Sandy McNeal of Hamlet; one brother, Logan Correll of North Liberty; sister-in-law, Linda (Bill) Dingee of Valparaiso; and seven grandchildren.Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister, Lorna Close.A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte with Pastor Tim Davis. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A military honors service will be conducted.
