Karl Volb, 90, passed away on Oct. 27, 2017 after a courageous battle with dementia.He was born on March 23, 1927 in Yugoslavia to parents of German Descent.It was there that he met and married his first love Anni. After living in Germany for 10 years Karl, Anni, and their two children moved to the United States in 1958. Karl lost Anni to early-onset Alzheimer's.He found love again when he married Betty Hansen. Their love story has lasted over 35 years.Karl worked as a welder/machinist for Super Mold and Cozad.He was a skilled craftsman, enjoyed gardening, bowling and dancing. He also liked spending time with friends and visiting museums. But, his greatest joy was family.It gave him great pleasure to play with his grandchildren and great grand children. And, they felt the same; He was their Opa.Karl is survived by his wife Betty and his children; Dori Ertz (Don), Harald Volb (Jennifer), Patty Pappas (Nick), Jim Hansen (Debbie) and Judi Eilert (Donald); his dear grandchildren and great grand children from both marriages.He was preceded in death by his sister Dori Rohr and his cousin Adam Merkle.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
