This obituary is administered by:
Karl Lee BuffumAnderson, CA1964 - 2017Karl Buffum, age 52, of Anderson, CA passed away unexpectedly at home on April 28th. Karl was born on October 1st, 1964 in Redding, CA.Growing up Karl played soccer and was known as 'Pele Blanco' by his friends in Brasil. He was also active in scouting and achieved his Eagle award. In high school, Karl turned his focus from soccer to football. Karl graduated from Ponderosa High School (Shingle Springs, CA) in 1983. He continued to play football at Sacramento City College until an injury from a car accident ended his gridiron dreams. Karl loved life and lived it to the fullest; he enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends who are spread across the globe. Karl had a soft spot in his heart for children and dogs, especially yellow labs. The love of his life was his lab, Butch. Karl was a devoted uncle to his two nieces, Laura and Katrina, as well as to the children of his friends. He was especially close to Samantha, Connor and Clay, the children of his best friend, Randy Rains. Karl had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He had a huge heart and would do anything for his family and friends. Karl had been anxiously awaiting a kidney transplant so that he could get back to living his life. He and a living donor had been approved and were just waiting for the surgery to be scheduled. He is preceded in death by his father Gene and brother Michael. His mother, Charlene, sister, Karin, and nieces, Katrina McLean and Laura Boehler, survive him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Koby's Promise, Inc. a 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization and foster based rescue group dedicated to finding loving forever homes for abandoned, stray and homeless pets. www.KobysPromise.orgYour life was a blessing, your memory a treasure...
