Judith Mary WahbaJacksonJudith Mary Wahba, age 75, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Judy was born on July 26, 1941 in San Francisco. She was the eldest daughter of Florence and Samuel Weinberg. Her childhood was filled with wonderful experiences of growing up on a rural farm in Delaware surrounded by family and animals. Judy graduated Felton High School in Delaware in 1959 and completed her B.A. in English at American University in 1963.She went on to teach junior high and high school English in New York where she met and married the late Dr. Albert Jacques Wahba. She would later start her family in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. In 1977, she and Albert moved with their two young children to Jackson, Mississippi. Judy was an active member of Beth Israel Congregation where she volunteered for Sisterhood and later served on the board of the temple. She was a devoted and doting mother who balanced her family life with a successful real estate business. Judy cherished her friendships with the real estate community and the clients she helped. After working for a few real estate offices, she joined some of her close friends and co-founded Real Estate Partners. She was a mentor and respected by all who worked with her. One of her more recent achievements was to custom build the family home that would host many celebrations over the years. She loved to entertain friends and family and was an excellent chef and conversationalist.Judy had a special love and talent with animals. She taught herself to ride a horse at their family farm at the age of 8 and had a passion for Arabians. She had a keen knowledge of show dogs and raised many over the years which brought her great joy, especially Emily and Zoey, her Brussells Griffons. Judy's husband of 51 years, Dr. Albert Wahba and her parents, Florence and Samuel Weinberg, preceded Judy in death. She is survived by her children Jeffrey (Jodi), Danielle, and Mike her sister Ruth Corder, and brother Ronnie Weinberg (Kati). Her grandchildren Jennifer, Andrew, and Allison will forever cherish and remember her. The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Jackson Oncology, especially Dr. Tammy Young, April, Lindsay, Latoya, and Candy at Sta-Home Health and Hospice Services, Trish and from Sitters, LLC, and the many caretakers, family and lifelong friends that helped her throughout her valliant fight with pancreatic cancer.Graveside services will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery on North State Street at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017.
