Judith Cooley LIGONIER — Judith K. Cooley, 76 of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 3, 2016. She was born on Dec. 10, 1939, to Toellner and Thelma (Ewell) Emrick in LaGrange County, Indiana. She married Armando "Chuck" Cooley on April 13, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2004. There wasn't a dull moment in Mrs. Cooley's life. She danced like nobody was watching and any book she could get her hands on, she was sure to read. Judith was an avid churchgoer and spent a lot of her free time helping at church. If you drove in a car with her, she liked to pick wild flowers and listen to the Music Box Dancer while that lead foot of hers, left many family stories behind. She will be dearly missed by her children, Gary Cooley of Ligonier, Indiana, Tracey (Paul) Miller of Kimmell, Indiana, Rhonda Cooley of Ligonier, Indiana, Rose Yankosky of North Webster, Indiana, and Frederick Cooley of South Bend, Indiana; a sister, Marilyn Krieg of Fort Wayne, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando "Chuck" Cooley; and brothers, David Emrick and Douglas Emrick. Family and friends may gather for visitation on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier. A funeral service will be held in Judith's honor on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway, South, Ligonier. Pastor Brad Cooper and Pastor Randy Penwell will officiate. Family and friends may gather from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana, following the service. Edna Mast WAWAKA — Edna M. Mast, age 78, of Wawaka passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 7:23 a.m. at North Ridge Village in Albion, Indiana. She was born on April 8, 1937, to Henry and Cora (Miller) Yoder in Rensselaer, Indiana. On June 13, 1954, she married Glen E. Mast in Burr Oak, Michigan. Mrs. Mast was a lifetime area resident and worked for Starcraft and Monsanto. She also had worked for Frick Services. She enjoyed reading, gardening and loving her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glen Mast of Wawaka; four children, Ken (Chris) Mast of Bluffton, Linda (Randy) Gorsuch of Wawaka, Mike (Valerie) Mast of Wawaka, Gary (Colleen) Mast of Wawaka; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Marvin Yoder of Menden, Michigan, and two sisters; Wilma Schwartz and Irene Yoder of Burr Oak. A funeral service was held in Mrs. Mast's honor on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Maple Grove Church, 806 S. Main St., Topeka. Pastor Harold Gingerich officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka. Visitation at Maple Grove Church was held on on Saturday, April 2, 2016. She was born on Aug. 29, 1960, to Melvin and Mary Mullett in LaGrange County. She was a member of The Old Order Amish Church. Nola is survived by her husband, Glen Lehman of Ligonier; her mother, Mary Mullett of Topeka; eight daughters, Stan and Sharon Bontrager of Topeka, Verlin and Marsha Yoder of Shipshewana, Linda Lehman of Topeka, Shem and Norma Miller of Shipshewana, Jerry and Kathryn Schwartz of Goshen, Dave and Rose Schmucker of New Paris, Kenton and Doris Borkholder of Ligonier, and Phillip and Doretta Miller of Ligonier; 20 grandchildren; eight sisters, Perry and Eva Yoder of Middlebury, Ernest and Linda Miller of Ligonier, Waneta Mullett of Millersburg, Kathryn Mullett of Shipshewana, William and Mary Miller of Shipshewana, Vernon and Lorene Miller of Ligonier, Amanda Mullett of Shipshewana, Ida Mullett of Topeka; and five brothers, Larry and Rose Mullet of Burr Oak, Michigan, Melvin Jr. and Dorene Mullett of Millersburg, Alvin and Esther Mullett of Shipshewana, Dennis and Esther Mullet of Sturgis, Michigan, and Lonnie and Amy Mullett of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Mullett. Family and friends were received Monday, April 4, 2016, and all day Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the family residence, 4147 W. C.R. 1100N, Ligonier. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the family residence. Burial followed at Clearspring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willie R. Miller, Glen Troyer, Marvin Troyer, Willis Miller, Richard Yoder and Joe Bontrager. Yeager Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Suzanne Shaw LIGONIER — Suzanne Shaw, 78, of Ligonier died on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion. She was born on June 7, 1937, to Harry and Margaret Grace (Sutherland) Williams in High Wycombe, England. On June 26, 1954, she married Donald Shaw in England while he was serving in the United States Air Force. In 1973, they moved to the Ligonier area. She worked for Essex in Ligonier as part of the assembly team and retired from Acadia. Suzanne was an avid euchre player and encouraged her fellow residents at North Ridge to play along with her. She carried the title as Mayor at North Ridge Village and everyone that surrounded her felt the warmth and care she had to give. She will be dearly missed by her son, Kenneth and Cathy Shaw of Ligonier; a daughter, Deborah and Kim Shock of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandsons, Benjamin and Aimee Shaw of Ligonier, Daniel and Debbie Shaw of Huntertown, and Paul Shock of Lansing, Michigan; one granddaughter, Carol Rose and Jason Cuppy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and three great-grandsons, Andrew, Wesley and Nathan Shaw, all of Ligonier. Suzanne is welcomed into everlasting life by her parents, Harry and Grace; husband, Donald in 2009; and a twin sister, Annie Swank of Kimmell. A visitation was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. A funeral service was held in Suzanne's honor on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Ligonier Evangelical Church, 1911 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Pastor Bruce Moyer officiated. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell following the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Suzanne's name to the Ligonier Evangelical Church.
