Juanita Wise LynnSHREVEPORT, LA- Services for Juanita Wise Lynn, 92, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Wise Memorial Baptist Church in Galbraith, LA. Interment followed at Wise Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Deacon Kay Hunter of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Shreveport, LA and Pastor Tony Lewis, of Pineville Baptist Church in Shreveport. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. The family asked that friends join them after the service for supper and fellowship in the church hall.Juanita was born on September 12, 1924 in Galbraith, LA to Lovenia Moreau Wise and William Leon Wise, M.D., and passed away November 14, 2016, at Willis Knighton North Medical Center, Shreveport, LA. Juanita met her future husband in 1947 when she was a teacher at Boyce High School and he was a member of the local professional baseball team. Juanita taught the third grade from 1945-1980 and continued her service with the public school system as a substitute teacher until 1989. She sacrificed her life for her family and church.Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, George H. Lynn, brother, Gary H. Wise, Sr., and sister, Wilhelmena Wise, M.D. Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her only child, Dr. Melissa Love Lynn of Shreveport, LA; Dr. Robert Taylor; nephews and nieces: William Jackson (Jackie) and Denise Paul Wise, Gary and Amanda Hart Wise, Rodney Wise, M.D., Antonio Quiros, Renee Prudhome Gresham, Mario Quiros, Joshua and Rachel Fennell Wise and Sophie, Samuel and Christina Easter Wise, McKenzlea and Zowie Wise, Zachary Quiros, and Russell Cook, Jr. Honoring Mrs. Lynn as pallbearers were her nephews: William Jackson Wise, Gary Wise, Jr., Dr. Rodney Wise, Antonio Quiros, Russell Cook, Jr., Joshua Wise, Samuel Wise and Zachary Quiros. Honorary pallbearer will be Mario Quiros. We wish to especially thank Willis-Knighton North Medical Center, the kind nurses, respiratory therapists, and Dr. Robert Taylor, Dr. Basel Kasabali, Dr. Randy White, Dr. Stephen Kilpatrick, Dr. Marisa Johnson, Allison Moore, P.A., and her caregiver, Cynthia Williams Lewis, lovingly called "My Angel."The family suggests memorials may be made to Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036 - 3604 which was so dear to her heart.
