Juan Jose Jaramillo, 77, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at home surrounded by his family.He was born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Rociada, to the late Casimiro Jaramillo and Antonia Zamora Jaramillo. He was a very well- known rancher, sheep shearer, cowboy, sheriff deputy, forest firefighter Hot Shot crew, and a well- known produce vendor. He was a retired West Las Vegas School Bus Driver known as "JJ the Bus Driver." He was a well-known sheep shearer with 64 years of his talents, performing many demonstrations throughout the state of New Mexico, and Arizona for many schools and general public. His passion was to perform at El Rancho De Las Golondrinas for many people from around the world. His work was featured in many magazines, newspapers and movies, a portrait hangs in a Dallas, Texas Museum. Sheep shearing is a craft he was proud of and taught his children and grandchildren that it will be carried on. He was preceded in death by his parents: Casimiro and Antonia Zamora Jaramillo; daughter: Gloria Jaramillo; sisters: Donicia Salazar and brother-in-law, Ruben, Isabel Grano and brother-in-law, Roberto; Maria Ortega; brothers: Pedro Jaramillo and sister-in-law, Margarita, Frank Jaramillo and Benito Jaramillo.He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Cecilia G. Jaramillo; daughters: Rosalie Jaramillo and husband Dale Bell, Jo Ann Campbell and husband David, Hazel Baca and husband Raymond and Mary Lou Jaramillo; sons: Peter Jaramillo and wife Linda, Benito Jaramillo and wife Angela, James Jaramillo and Juan Jaramillo; grandchildren: Gregorio Bell, and partner Leona Baca, Larry Bell, Mathew Santillanes, and wife Alejandra, Wayne Campbell and partner Larissa Baca, Tina Adams, Trevor Jaramillo and partner Kayla, Esperanza Serrano and Daniel Jaramillo, Jacob, Vicente, and Miquela Jaramillo, Martin Roybal, Amanda and Sonya Gonzales; great-grandchildren: Lynda Bell, William Lopez, Rene, Raul, Reyna Santillanes, Jonathan, Kasandra and Derick Adams, Nena Serrano, Angeline and Damian Jaramillo and Makayla Gonzales; sister: Cecilia Montaño; brother: Casey Jaramillo and wife Florinda; sisters-in-law: Lugarda Gallegos, Margarita Gallegos; special niece and nephews whom he raised: Lillian Avila and husband Raymond, Henry Jaramillo and wife Vivian and Jerry Mora Jr.; numerous other nieces, nephews; very special friends: Delia Dupree, Jen Ha, Aaron Lucero, Jim Green, Mark and Mary Ann Turner, many other relatives and many other friends.Rosary devotional services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27 at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas and at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, with the following serving as casket bearers, Matthew Santillanes, Wayne Campbell, Jacob Jaramillo, Vicente Jaramillo, Gregorio Bell, and Larry Bell. Serving as honorary bearers will be the remaining of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
