Joyce Noelia Powell1924-2016Joyce Noelia Powell, 91, of Gulf Breeze, FL was surrounded by family and friends as she quietly passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016.Joyce was born on December 19, 1924 in Braithwaite, LA to the late Joe and Bella Lambert. She was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church and was a member of St. Ann Altar Society for over 20 years. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning a Medical Secretary Certificate from Pensacola State College after her husband died. This certification assisted her with her career work at Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI). She also loved gardening and traveling the world. As a Navy wife she enjoyed living in North Carolina, Rhode Island, Florida, and the country of Panama. Later she took trips to California, Alaska, and Europe. She loved her family very much and she will be truly missed. She has lived a full life and is now reunited with her late husband, who she has missed for a very long time.She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Waelan Powell; parents; and six brothers and six sisters. Joyce is survived by her three children, Gloria Jean (Tommy) Allred, Charlene (Ron) Figueroa, and Timothy (Kiwanis) Powell; 2 grandchildren, Joseph (Candi) Allred and Allison (Allan) Habetz; and 2 great grandchildren, John and Owen Habetz, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.A Rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm followed by the visitation to 7:00pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze, FL with Msgr. Luke Hunt, celebrant. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:45am.Flowers should be sent to Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice Volunteer Dept., 1555 N.
