Joyce Meredith PierceRedding, CAJoyce Meredith Pierce, 95, passed on November 15, 2016, at Dignity Health hospital in Redding, CA. Joyce was born on February 27, 1922, in Zilla, WA, a small town in Yakima county. Joyce married the love of her life, Forrest Pierce (Smokey) on July 25, 1941, she was 19 years old and he was 21. This year, on July 25th, they happily together, celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.They moved to Castella, CA, in 1958, where together they built two beautiful houses they called home for 33 years. During that time, they bought Point McCloud Resort on Shasta Lake, running the business for 11 years where Joyce made many lifelong friends. Joyce also worked at Castle Rock School in Castella, where she helped prepare and serve wonderful lunches to many children for 15 years. They later moved to Palo Cedro, CA, building their 3rd family home.Joyce lived her life to the fullest through love of family, friends and traveling, seeing most all of the United States, Canada and Alaska in an RV.Joyce (Nana) is survived by her loving husband, Forrest; a brother, Richard Nelson; sister, Luanne and husband Trent Pierce; grandson, Jon Lambert; great-grandson, Jon T. Lambert; niece, Kristen Pierce and children, Taylor Fesler and Treyce Ashcraft; nephew, Jeffrey Pierce and children, Raina and Kiley Pierce.Joyce was preceded in passing by her much loved daughter, Jana, who we know took her hand and guided her home.We miss you both, you will forever be in our hearts.Service is private.Please sign the guest book at http://obits.redding.com
