Josephine A. Blust, age 90, of Tawas City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Iosco Medical Care Facility in Tawas City. Josephine was born on Oct. 4, 1919, in Tawas Township to Stephen and Agnes (nee Miller) Birkenbach. Josephine was the last of 12 siblings. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Sr.; and her son, Michael Jr. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family. Josephine was employed at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital for nine years. When retired, she and her husband, Michael, spent summers at their cabin in DeTour. She is survived by her devoted children, sons, Howard (Kathy) Blust and Joseph (Debbie) Blust; daughters, Ann (Charlie) Kujawa and Betty (Edwin) Bellinger; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Ron) Blust-Harris; grandchildren, Jeff (Jeni) Blust, Paul (Teresa) Blust, Scott Blust, Jill Blust, Joan (Jacob) Kennedy, Anthony (Karalee) Kujawa, Jason (Sarah) Blust, Michelle Blust (Dave Thomas), Josie Bellinger, Leah (Peter) Linebaugh, Samuel Bellinger (Dave Caceres) and Edwin Bellinger; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass was Thursday, April 1, at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with the Rev. Fr. Charles Donajkowski officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary was prayed Wednesday evening, March 31, at Buresh and Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas City, where friends also called on Wednesday.
