Joseph T. Hall of Oscoda passed away at the age of 75 on June 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was known to all as Joe and was a resident of Oscoda all of his life. Joe was born on June 28, 1939 to Clarence and Viola Hall. Joe grew up in Oscoda with his brothers, attending Oscoda Area Schools. Joe married Janet VanWormer and had four children, sharing their lives together for over 50 years. Joe's children gave him 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, all of whom he had been very close to. Joe was well known and well liked in the community having earned the reputation as a family man and wonderful friend. All who knew him knew he would go out of his way to take care of both family and friends. Joe worked as a heavy equipment operator, was an avid hunter and fisherman and an extremely gifted woodworker. Joe's generosity was also extended to the church and other causes he believed in. Joe is survived by three of his four children, Jim Hall, Joyce Duprey and Jean Bridgman; two brothers, Stanley and Leroy Hall; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hall; his daughter, Julia Hall; two brothers, Clarence (Bub) Hall and Ward Hall; and his beloved dog, Casey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 1 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Homes in Oscoda. Interment to follow the service in Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery.
