Joseph Reindel, 87, of East Side, White Haven, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Celtic Hospice in Wilkes-Barre.He was born one of 18 children on Jan. 9, 1929, in Lefor, N.D., to John and Eva Hupfauf Reindel.He married Mary Frances Deal Reindel in 1974, and she survives.Also surviving are his sister, Margaret Sadler, North Dakota; grandaughter, Celeste Olmstead Blessner and her husband, Eric, State College; grandson, Daniel Olmstead, State College; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Lucy Blessner; several nieces, nephews and many other friends and loved ones.Joe's step-daughter, Constance Anderson Olmstead, and 16 siblings preceded him in death.Joe was a longtime resident of White Haven where he lived since marrying Mary Frances in 1974.He left his childhood home in North Dakota as a young man to move to the East Coast. He worked as a machinist for 38 years at Northern Engineering near Philadelphia and enjoyed a vacation home at Penn Lake.He served his country proudly during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the White Haven Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in White Haven, where he also served as an eucharistic minister.After his retirement, he enjoyed working at the Mountain Laurel Golf Course, traveling the United States with his wife, volunteering locally, and spending time with his family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 411 Allegheny St., White Haven, at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Michael Kloton will officiate.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Patrick's Building Fund in White Haven, or the White Haven Lion's Club Scholarship Fund.For information, visit www.lehmanfuneralhome.com.
