Joseph MorrAnkenyJoseph Charles Morr "Joe", died the evening of March 5, 2017, after a long battle with COPD. He was born on September 17, 1936 in Des Moines, IA. He was proud to say he was a lifetime resident of Ankeny, IA and would tell anyone that would listen that seven generations of his family have attended Ankeny Schools starting with his grandmother Beulah (Weinhart) Lawson, class of 1916. His parents were Ross and Katherine (Lawson) Morr. Joe joined the United States Navy in August of 1954 and was honorably discharged in June of 1969. In July of 1955 he attended a service school in Bainbridge, Maryland. He met and married Edythe (Kelly) Morr as she also attended that class. They enjoyed 61 happy years of marriage together. They have one son, Mike (Joyce Gibson) Morr, two grandchildren, Anne (Nick) Rodriguez and Michael Morr. They also have four great grandchildren, Nicolas and Kate Rodriguez, and Rylee and Brennan Morr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Karen (Bob) Ranney and a still born brother, Tommy. Joe has donated his body to Des Moines University so even in death he is still giving to others. As per his wishes there will be no services.
