Joseph Leonard ""Joe L."" Cissell, 65, of New Haven, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. He was born on Oct. 13, 1950, the son of the late John Henry and Margaret Gertrude Boone Cissell. He was a retired supervisor for Jeff Boat Inc. in Jeffersonville, Ind., and was an avid fisherman, NRA supporter, and loved watching westerns and horseback riding.He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Cissell.Survivors include his wife: Katherine ""Kat"" Newton Cissell, of New Haven; a daughter, Amy (Chris) Cissell Mattingly, of New Haven; two grandsons, Jordan Mattingly and Cameron Mattingly; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A Mass of Christian burial was 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Chris Lubecke officiating. Burial was in St. Catherine Church Cemetery in Bardstown.Pallbearers were Jordan Mattingly, Mike Newton, Tony Newton, Pat Newton, Artie Braden, Mike Spaulding, Thurman Swafford, Melvin Beam.William Rust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
