BUTLER — Joselynn M. Badman, age 52, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at her Butler home. Mrs. Badman was born on July 14, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert and Betty (Johnson) Smith. Her mother resides in Fort Wayne. She married David W. Badman on Dec. 2, 1985, in Auburn. He resides in Butler. Mrs. Badman worked as an emergency medical technician for DeKalb EMS for nine years. She also worked for the Garrett Head Start for 2 1/2 years. She was a member of Lakewood Park Baptist Church in Auburn. She was also a lifetime Girl Scout member. She won the Presidential Award, which is the highest award given in Girl Scouts. Joselynn served as an Indiana ambassador advocate for the U.S. Pain Foundation. In December of 2013 she was named the U.S. Pain Foundation ambassador of the month, and in 2015 she was recognized as the ambassador of the year. She was also active with the St. Mary's Soup Kitchen in Fort Wayne, which her family helped to start. Joselynn was named the Butler Elementary volunteer of the year in 1998. One of her favorite things was serving as a baseball and softball mom for her kid's ball teams in the summer. Survivors include: husband David Badman of Butler; two sons, Douglas Badman of Fort Wayne and Thomas "Tommy" Badman of Auburn; a daughter, Amanda Jean "Mandee" Badman and her fiancé Steve Temple of Auburn; two grandchildren, Connor Temple and Mason Temple; mother Betty Smith of Fort Wayne; six brothers, Andrew Smith of California, Thad and Connie Smith of Albion, Robert "Rob" Smith of Angola, Raymond "Ray" Smith of Auburn, James Smith of Bunker Hill, Indiana, and Dr. Francis Smith Ph.D. of Denver, Colorado; and three sisters, Mary and Jim Wolf of Columbia City, Megan and Daffrey Billingsley of Fort Wayne, and Ruth Smith of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Smith, and a brother, Peter Smith. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Park Baptist Church, 5555 C.R. 29 in Auburn. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 3-7 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn. Pastor Scott Taylor and Pastor James Pettit will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the U.S. Pain Foundation, 670 Newfield, Ste. 2, Middletown, CT, 06457, or Lakewood Park Baptist Church Deacon Fund.
