Jose (Luis) Montes, passed away peacefully at his home in Anthony, NM on August 19, 2017 at the age of 86. He was born on February 21, 1931 in Zacatecas, MX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juana Guzman and Jesus Montes; his siblings Antonio, Consuelo; Guadalupe, and Dolores. Jose is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elva; his four daughters, Ivette Silva (Danny) of El Paso, TX, Cynthia Montes of Las Cruces, NM, Veronica Armenta (Oscar) of Las Cruces, NM, Maribel Chacon (Anivar) of Las Cruces, NM, one sister, Josefina Perez (Pedro), eight grandchildren, Erick Isaias, Javier Chacon, Manny Chacon, Cassandra Armenta, Ethan Diaz, Emily Silva, Ericka Silva, Ryan Diaz and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Jose will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2017 at La Paz Perches West Funeral Home, 6111 S. Desert Blvd, El Paso, TX. Rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be Thursday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln St. Anthony, NM 88021, followed by burial at Anthony Cemetery.
