YORK Jonathan W. "Jon" Tome, 53, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Angela L (Parrigan) Tome for 28 years. He was born on January 25, 1961, in York, the son of Sandra J. (Kahlbaugh) Tome and the late John W. Tome and the late Gary L. Gentzler and Wilma Dean Gentzler who lives in Texas. Including Jonathan's wife and mother he is survived by three children: Jonathan W. Tome, Jr. and wife Kaycie of Dillsburg, Dakota N. Tome and McKensie E. Tome of Dover; four siblings: Kimberly J. Tome of York, Kelly A. (Tome) Nagle and husband William of Wrightsville, Nicole N. (Tome) Ness and husband Elliot of York, Tonja L. (Gentzler) Johnson and husband Justin of Idaho; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jonathan worked 27 years for Vertis Printing as a printer. He was on the Board of Directors for Tomestead, Inc., York. Jonathan was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family camping outings at Cowans Gap State Park and Assateaque Island, Md. He deeply loved his dog Riley and he loved talking politics, history, and current events or world news. He was a very smart man and a great conversationalist. A Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church Starview, 4600 N. Sherman St. Ext., Mt. Wolf, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. Burial will be private. The John Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is assisting with arrangements.
