Jon Barry NibletLaurel-Jon Barry Niblet, 67, of Laurel passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.Jon "Barry" was born on July 7, 1949 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late John Clinton Niblet and Jane Outten Niblet.He served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea in the United States Army. Stateside, after college, he started and owned Niblet and Sons Auction. He later retired from Somerset County Social Services as well. Jon was a talented singer, song writer and musician who entertained many over the years. He was a member of the band the "Mystics." He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He led a life of adventure, however, once children arrived, his pursuits turned to family, by being a devoted husband and loving father. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel.Jon is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Niblet; daughters, Nicole Dickerson and Kathy Marie Shaver; sons, Walter Cooper and Jon Clinton Niblet; grandchildren, Laine and Grant Dickerson, Ava and Alexis Cooper, and Roger Shaver; loving sister, Vicki Cugler; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Alan Niblet.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the services in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home.
