John (Jim) Yachiw1928 - 2017Jim was born on October 28, 1928 in Goodeve, SK. The family moved to the Ituna area in 1930. He passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2017 in the arms of his loving family at the age of 88. Jim was a mechanic the majority of his working life, with a break to own and operate the Macleods store in Ituna from 1978 - 1990. He married Julia on August 12, 1951. In 1960, their son Dwayne was born. Jim was predeceased by parents; Nicolas and Telkia, mother and father-in-law; Stanley and Pauline, siblings; Mary Holowenko (2005), Russell (1999), and Myron (2016), sisters-in-law; Loretta (2003), Betty (2016), Donna (2010) and Audrey (2017), brothers-in-law; Harold (2010), Gerald (2013), Ron (2003) and John Holowenko (1979), niece, Doreen(1994) and nephew, Larry (2017). He leaves to celebrate his life, wife Julia, son and daughter-in-law Dwayne and Sandy, granddaughters Samantha (boyfriend Joe Omelian), Amanda (fiance Kellen Bell), brothers Mike (Rose), Peter (Angie), Nestor (Nancy) and Roman (Violet), sisters-in-law Bernice and Jean, and brother-in-law Tom (Mary), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 11 at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral on Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2616 Louise Street, Saskatoon SK. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
