John Weslie Brandon, age 87, of Akron Colorado, went to his final resting place after dying suddenly on December 10, 2016. John was born on the family farm on June 2, 1929, 21 miles Southeast of Akron to Clifford and Veda Dodge Brandon. John went to Golden Rod school until the family moved to Onalaska, Washington in May of 1938 where he attended school there. In September of 1943 the family moved back to the homestead where John attended High Prairie school into his junior year of High school until he found work and quit school. In August of 1950 he enlisted into the Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy John married Alvina Feyereisen on May 18, 1951 and this union was blessed with five beautiful, wonderful children; Michael John, Gary Allan, Timothy Joel, Kathleen Ann and Rebecca Lynn.John was preceded in death by his; daughter Rebecca and grandson Elijah, father Clifford and mother Veda, brothers Wayne and Burnell, sister Velma. John is survived by wife Alvina, children; Mike, Gary, Tim and Kathy, Grandchildren; Jeremy, Amy, Kevin, Heather, Valerie, Brett, Wes and Curtis, Great Grandchildren; Jacob, Makayla, Zach, Johnathan, Jacqueline, Briana, Tony, Riley and Logan. John is also survived by brothers; Earl, Jim, Russell and Marvin, sisters: Veda, Phyllis and Marcelyn.John was a dedicated hard worker. He worked for; a seismograph company in North Dakota, Kansas Nebraska Energy, owned and operated an excavating company, worked for Y-W Electric as the construction foreman, owned and operated 4-B's Line Construction where he traveled a region of four states doing line construction. He also owned the 4-B's lodging facility/Motel. John was always ready to help anyone who needed help.John loved to fly his airplane, deep sea fishing, hunting and playing cards.A rosary will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Joseph's. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
