John Wesley Barnes, age 77, of Erie, passed away at his residence, on Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born on September 21, 1939, a son of the late Ephrem and Margaret McGinnis Barnes. John was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was employed by Zurn Industries for over 30 years. He was a family man and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Francis Barnes; two brothers, Jim and Jeff Barnes; and three sisters, Juanita McLaurin, Ruby Lee Harper and Lina Barnes. Survivors include his son, John Barnes, Jr.; his brother, John L. Barnes; and his sister, Carrie Mae Gamble.
