Dr. John SchieblerKnoxville, TNDr. John Charles "Jack" Schiebler, of Knoxville, passed away November 16th after a long illness. Jack was born on March 19, 1935, in Neenah, Wisconsin to John B. and Sophie (Staniak) Schiebler. Jack graduated from Neenah High School in 1953. He attended Cornell University, where he was a member of the Phi Upsilon Fraternity. He then entered Weill Cornell Medical College. Upon completion of medical school and his general surgery training, Jack served as a captain in the U.S.
Army. He spent his deployment in a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) unit in Korea. He then completed a four year residency in Urology at the Medical College of Virginia. On June 20, 1970, Jack married Linda McSwain in Richmond, Virginia. In 1970, Jack moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin and joined the Skemp-Grandview Clinic. In 1975, he moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin and began practicing with the West Side Clinic before joining Urological Surgeons where he stayed until his retirement in 2000. He was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Through the years, Jack was Chief of Staff at St. Mary's Hospital, and was instrumental in bringing urological care to outlying areas, as well as providing free prostate cancer screening clinics throughout Northeastern Wisconsin. Jack loved nothing more than traveling the world with his wife, watching the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as "Doc".He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Robert Adams, III; and his nephew, Robert Adams, IV. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Farragut, TN; and two children, Robin (Joe) Cacopardo and their children, Nick and Kate, Knoxville, TN; and John E. (Aisha) and their daughter, Simone, Knoxville, TN; his sister, Barbara Adams; his nephew, John G. Adams (Tina); and a niece and three nephews.Friends may call on Friday, November 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Click Funeral Home, 11915 Kingston Pike, Farragut, TN. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Click Funeral Home with Father Doug Owens and Pastor A.D. Baxter officiating. A reception will follow in the Milestones Event Center (next door to the funeral home).
