John "Dale" Omundson, Jr. John "Dale" Omundson, Jr., 62, husband of Diane "Dee Dee" Omundson, of Beaufort, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2 PM. at Carl W. Anderson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Dale was born on July 5, 1954 in Astoria, OR to Doris Omundson and the late Dale Omundson, Sr. Dale had saltwater and sawdust in his veins. From childhood through his life he always lived near the ocean. He was most at home out on the water. He was always working on one project or another. He was a true master craftsman in many trades, especially working with wood. Dale has so many passions including grilling and smoking every kind of meat. He loved creating culinary master pieces and was always ready to feed a few or a crowd. Dale loved the outdoors. When he wasn't out on a boat, he was riding his Harley or cruising the yard on his tractor. He was a loyal friend, committed husband and a steadfast father. He will be missed by everyone his life has touched. Surviving in addition to his wife, Dee Dee and his mother, Doris; are two daughters, Tammy Omundson-Hemenway and Pamela Willis; one sister, Katie Koerper and three grandchildren, Cory, Clayton and Carlee Jo Hemenway. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
