Boeldt, John H. (1933-2017)John H. "Hans" Boeldt, age 83, of Plymouth, passed away early Wednesday (February 1, 2017) at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Hans was born on December 29, 1933 in the Town of Herman, WI, a son of the late Harold and Norma (Kalk) Boeldt.He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. He attended grade school in Howards Grove and graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1953, where he was very active in sports.On September 12, 1953 he married Shirley Bennin at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Howards Grove where he served as an usher. After their marriage they resided in Johnsonville, then moving to Howards Grove.Hans worked at the Vollrath Company in Sheboygan until they purchased the restaurant in Cascade in 1968. They owned and operated Boeldt's Restaurant until 1996 when they sold it, moving to Plymouth. Han's was then a bartender at Quit Qu Quit Golf Course until 2013. While in Cascade, Hans was a member of the Cascade Volunteer Fire Dept., Lions Club and the Appolo Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed golfing and deer hunting with his sons and watching any baseball game his kids participated in. He was also a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed the Wisconsin Badgers as well. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade where he served as an elder for several terms.Survivors include his wife: Shirley of 63 years of Plymouth; Two sons: John (Judy) Boeldt of Kohler, Randy (Dorothy) Boeldt of Elkhart Lake; One daughter: Vicky (Tony) Graff of Columbus, WI; Six grandchildren: Tanya (Patrick) Buchanan, Shalon (Eric) Edson, Melissa (Brian) Vanness, Jamie (Mike) VandeHey, Tyler (Annye) Graff and Joshua Graff; 17 great grandchildren; Two brothers-in-law: Don (Donna) Bennin of Cleveland, Dick (Debbie) Bennin of Sheboygan; One sister-in-law: Sharon (Neil) Pahl of Howards Grove. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his infant twin sons, his parents: Harold and Norma and his in-laws: Art and Lorraine Bennin.Funeral services will be held on Saturday (February 4, 2017) at 7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Richard Bidinger, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery, Howards Grove.Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Saturday (Feb. 4) from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Hans' name for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cascade or St. Nicholas Hospice, Sheboygan.The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Plymouth are assisting his family.
