John David Lee, 55, a longtime resident of Las Vegas and Mora passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014.He was born on May 29, 1959 in Bath, N.Y. to William R. Lee Jr., and Feliciana Fernandez.John boxed with the Golden Gloves at the West End Gym in Lowell, Mass. during his youth. John joined the U.S. Army in 1977, and graduated from basic training at FT. Dicks, N.J. John graduated from infantry school earning a M-16 expert badge, and a M-203 expert badge. John graduated from jump school at FT. Benning, Ga. earning himself permanent duty with the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in FT. Brag, NC. John was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1981. John loved spending time with his friends & family and will be dearly missed by us all.He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Lee, Jr.; paternal grandparents, William and Gwen Lee; and maternal grandparents, Juan and Susana Fernandez.He is survived by his son, John David Lee, Jr., and fianceé, Rachal; five grandchildren; mother, Feliciana Villalpando; and five brothers and sisters.Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Mortuary.
