John Jack C. FisherJuly 07, 1926 - Jan. 26, 2017SOUTH BEND - John Jack C. Fisher, 90, of South Bend, IN passed away early morning of Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1926 in Evanston, IL to the late Byron and Marie (Cannon) Fisher. On August 19, 1950 in Chicago, IL, he was united in marriage to the former Carol Parker Fisher who preceded him in death on September 21, 2010. Jack is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Donald) Hurlbut of Kenosha, WI and Jacqueline (Bob) Vida of South Bend, IN; two sons, James (Martha) Fisher of Granger, IN and John (Laura Lyle) Fisher of Middlesex, VT; eight grandchildren, Christine Penska, Clara (Jason) Horton, Donald (Ashlie) Hurlbut, Lee (Miranda) Fisher, Sara (Marc) Russell, Bennet Fisher, Devin (Robin) Vida and Marie (Lee) Roberson and four great grandchildren, Haylee, Leo, Magnolia and Jack. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Joshua Hurlbut and brother, Byron L. (Florence) Fisher. Jack lived most of his life in South Bend coming from IL in 1956. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during
World War II. He worked as a real estate agent for Forbes Varner Realty, retiring in 2004 after twenty-five years of service. Prior to that, he worked for Borden's Milk for twenty-four years. Jack was a member of the Teamsters Union and South Bend Bowler's Hall of Fame. He was treasurer of St. Anthony's Club and a little league coach. Jack loved golfing, fishing and playing softball. He enjoyed the annual family fishing trip where his wife skunked him every year. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
