John L. Bishop1937 - 2014John L. Bishop, 76, of Somers, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Medical Center.He was born on June 4, 1937, to the late Joseph and Norma (Umland) Bishop in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from UW-Madison. While attending UW-Madison, John was active in the Saddle and Sirloin Club, an organization for students interested in animal science.John entered the U.S. Army on Oct. 10, 1955, and was honorably discharged on Sept. 25, 1957.John was a farmer most of his life, and enjoyed being active in the local farming community.John also enjoyed keeping abreast of local politics, and at one time was a member of the Somers Town Board. John enjoyed traveling, and spent multiple winters in different southern states. John is survived by his loving partner, Susan Hilbrand of Somers; his son, Allen R. (Zeanneth) Bishop of Kenosha; his daughter, Patrice Bishop of Los Angeles, Calif.; his sister, Gloria Chubrilo of Somers; and his granddaughter, Zynel. Other relatives and friends also survive him.Funeral Services for John will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
