John Swede Anderson1931 - 2014John Swede Anderson, 82, of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.John was born on July 19, 1931, in Ishpeming, Mich., the son of the late Edwin and Georgina (Youngberg) Anderson. John was educated in the schools of Ishpeming, Mich. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. John married Gwen Spidle on Sept. 7, 1963, at First United Methodist Church of Kenosha, and were married until her passing in 2005. John was employed at AMC/Chrysler retiring in 1989. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. John was an avid musician, playing the piano, accordion, and clarinet. His hobbies included bowling, playing cribbage, and spending time with family and friends. John was active in the UAW/Local 72, and a lifelong member of the VFW Post 1865, giving his time to help in many ways.Survivors include his children, Don (Kitty) Anderson of Gwinn, Mich., Cheryl Leipzig, Jeanette Anderson, Christine (Jeff) Kemen all of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren, Mellissa, Kira, Jim, Justin, Mary, Ben, Pat, Phillip, Hannah, Connor, and Julia; five great grandchildren, Dominick, Caiden, Joseph, Victoria, and Maddox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen, children in infancy, Sharon and Douglas, brothers, Eugene and Rudolph. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday July 12, 2014, at First United Methodist Church of Kenosha, 919 60th Street Kenosha, WI 53140, from 9:30-10 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 10 a.m. Burial Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
