JOHN A. MACAK WHITING, IN John A. Macak, 52 of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Pamela F. Macak (nee Piper) who passed away January 13, 2016; loving son of Joseph and Arlene (nee Baranowski) Macak of Whiting; cherished step-father of Adam Kulak; dearest brother of Joseph (Jean) Macak, Jr. of Seattle, WA, Milan (late Angie) Macak, Arlene (Carlos) Flores and Julie (Peter Zavala) Guillen all of Whiting; dear uncle of Thomas Flores, Kathryn Zavala and the late Charles Flores; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with the Rev. C. James Facklam, officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm to time of services. John Macak was born on October 31, 1964 and was a lifelong resident of Whiting. He was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1982 and was employed by the City of Whiting Water Dept. John loved to read. He was an avid fisherman and Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed sci-fi, especially Star Wars. Devoted to his family, John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
