SALISBURY — Joey Kelvin Britt, 59, of Salisbury, passed away on Nov. 17, 2016.

He was the loving husband of Karen Britt, to whom he was married for 40 years.

Joey was born on April 13, 1957, to the late Shelba Carter in Robeson County. He worked in Telecommunications for the North Carolina Highway Patrol, retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement, he continued working as coordinator for the BLET program at Davidson County Community College. Joey was an active member of Gold Hill Wesleyan Church and President of the East Camp Gideons. He dedicated his life to public service and to helping his fellow man.

Joey is survived by wife, Karen; a son, Sean (Blair); his daughter, Holli Britt; and a brother, Johnney.

The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Gold Hill Wesleyan Church in Gold Hill. A service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
