Joanne Mae Stoll was born on April 22, 1935 in Outlook, WA to James and Eloyde Stoll. She passed away on May 25, 2010 following a long, difficult and courageous battle with emphysema. She is survived by her brothers Donald Stoll of Yakima, Harold (Modene) Stoll of Orlando, FL; her sister Judy Beezley (Bob) of Long Beach, WA; her three sons Steven Wilson of Seattle, Curtis Wilson of Yakima, and David Wilson (Caroline) of Prosser; and her three grandchildren Susan Wilson, Josh Wilson and Zoe Wilson.Joanne graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1953 and spent most of her life in Ellensburg working for Bestway Lumber and then Horseman's Supply. She was a devoted and loving mother who raised her three boys by herself while working two or three jobs to make ends meet. In doing so she instilled in all of her boys a strong work ethic and the importance of doing the right thing no matter what. She moved to White Swan when she went to work at Sundown M Ranch in 1984 and worked there until her retirement in 2003. In 2008 Joanne was presented with the first ever Life Time Achievement Award for Support Staff from the Central Washington Chemical Dependency Treatment Providers Alliance, an award that is now named after her and is presented annually.Joanne will always be remembered for her thoughtful and kind words to everyone she came in contact with, be it family, friends, co-workers or patients at Sundown. Joanne enjoyed working with her hands and making things for friends and family. She knitted, sewed and did needle point. Many of her friends and family still have a sweater, a blanket, a wall hanging or some article of clothing that she created especially for them. Memorial services will be at the Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights on Monday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Terrace Heights Civic Center.In lieu of flowers remembrance can be made to Sundown M Ranch.
