Joanne Garlow1933 - 2013Joanne Garlow, 80, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday July 14, 2013, at Grande Prairie Health & Rehab in Pleasant Prairie. Joanne was born on May 27, 1933, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Mark and Vivian (Bauer) Gibson. Joanne was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, attending Roosevelt Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, and graduating from Bradford H.S. She also continued her education taking classes at Gateway and Parkside. She married Robert Garlow in 1952, they later divorced. She was employed as a secretary for Willowbrook Sanatorium in the early 1960s. In 1968 she was employed at St. Catherines Hospital as Lead Transcriptionist of the Word Processing Services, retiring in 1998. Her hobbies included traveling, golfing, dancing, gardening, reading, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She also participated in volunteer services at St. Catherines Hospital and Kenosha Medical Center. Survivors include her children, Mark (Paula) Garlow, Alison (Paul) Beirne, Shelley (Bill Modica) Anderson all of Kenosha; grandchildren, Adam (Kristy) Beirne, Erin (Britton) Sliwinski, Matthew Anderson, Nicole Garlow; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Gibson. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday July 18, 2013 at Kenosha Funeral Services from 5-7 p.m. with memorial services to follow at 7 p.m. Private entombment Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
